Bernie Heffernon, General Manager and Vice President of ING, and Tom Franzen, Finance Director – Office of Financial Management presented the National Association of Governmental Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA) 2007 Leadership Recognition Award to the Board of County Commissioners on behalf of NAGDCA.

Each year, NAGDCA recognizes outstanding achievements to its government members with Leadership Awards for their effective communication and plan design and administration. Based upon the plan communications and enhancements that Johnson County implemented in 2006, there has been a 15% increase in participant enrollments, and a 25% increase in plan assets. In addition, fees have been reduced, communications have increased, and educational efforts are on-going.

Johnson County was nominated for a Leadership Award in both the Effective Communication and the Plan Design and Administration categories.
